Buonopane “returns to the past” with the collective painting on the occasion of San Giovanni Battista

In the heart of the island tradition, Buonopane is preparing to celebrate the feast of San Giovanni Battista with a cultural initiative that smells of memory and identity. From 22 to 24 June 2025, inside the Armando Di Costanzo school complex, the collective painting exhibition “Ritorno al passato” will be held, a heartfelt tribute to the peasant life of the island and its most authentic roots.

Passionately curated by Fabiana Sorbo and Ivano Di Meglio , the exhibition will feature the works of Patrizia Di Costanzo , Pina Ferrandino and Minerva , artists linked to the territory, capable of evoking with expressive force rural landscapes, ancient gestures, and the dignity of work in the fields. The exhibition is intended not only as an artistic event, but also as an act of gratitude towards those who have preserved and passed down the island's peasant culture.

Particularly touching will be the tribute to Professor Giovanni Di Costanzo , an unforgettable figure for the Buonopane community. A man of culture, educator and profound connoisseur of local traditions, the professor is honored through this initiative that reflects his own sensitivity towards the historical and social memory of the place.

The inauguration will take place on Sunday 22nd June at 5:00 pm in via San Giovanni Battista , near the characteristic little square of the village. The exhibition will be open for three days, transforming the primary school into a suggestive exhibition space immersed in memories, among warm colours and scenes of rural life that speak of the past but look to the future.
